This movie received several awards and was nominated for others. In Sweden, it is THE movie that people most frequently watch again and again!
This is a heart-warming, touching, family-friendly Swedish movie about a gnarly, gnashing, gritty, gruff, grump named Ove. He is set in his routines and ways of being. With him, we are taken through a huge range of emotions as Ove lives his “now” and reviews salient past events that have led him to his “now”. There is drama, and there is humor. His life is turned upside down, and he certainly deviates from his careful plans because of the unexpected! Join us for an entertaining, insightful, touching movie that allows us to better understand Swedes and Sweden of yesteryear and now.
The debrief after the movie will allow us to “digest” and discuss the movie.
