    About the Movie

    This award-winning film received several accolades and nominations. Roger Ebert praised director, Jan Troell, as "perhaps the best of the post-Bergman generation of Swedish filmmakers." The movie depicts the struggles of regular people in their journey to a new, promising land, after leaving their challenging but known homeland.

    In our Part 2 journey, join us for the continuation of an entertaining, insightful, and touching movie that allows us to better understand Swedes and Sweden (and other countries) of yesteryear and now.

    • 6:25 PM: Eat, sample Swedish food (Please, bring food.), and mingle

    • 7:00 PM: Movie starts (including a 10-minute intermission)

    • 9:00 PM: Discussion

    • 9:15 PM: Teardown

    Our group will start early with pre-game funs before doors open for public.

    5:15 PM – Check in at the main doors of the McConnell Entrance (doors right by box office) and proceed up to the new attraction  Fan Zone, outside seats 118.

    5:30 PM – Group Photo at CBJ Cannon

    6 PM – Doors Open for public

    7 PM Game start!

    Post-game-activities to be announced.

    The Fan Zone is utilizing brand new technology for interactive hockey. You can even shoot against a full size Goalie on a huge screen and  might score!

    Join your Scandinavian Club friends for International Night at the OSU Women's Basketball (ranked #11 nationally) game on Thursday, January 23 against the #7 nationally ranked U of Maryland Terrapins.

    The tipoff is at 6 p.m.   After the game, all Scandi Club guests will have an opportunity to meet Elsa Lemmila and other members of the team in a special meet and greet in the "Board Room" 

    Elsa Lemmila is a freshman Center from Espoo, Finland.  She is majoring in environmental engineering and was named Rookie of the Year in 2021 - 2022.  

    The game (vs. Maryland) is a Wear White game - perfect for those wanting to share the Finnish spirit with some white and blue gear or flags!
